Nancy Swett is a writer and media advisor who specializes in regional clients, small business development, entrepreneurism, community building, revitalization and youth.

Through Great Peconic Communications, Inc., a business communications company that Nancy started in 1995, she offers clients professional multi-media editorial, publishing, and promotional services. She has helped many clients in a variety of fields to move forward with advertising, public relations, publishing, and marketing efforts.

Previously, Nancy was a communications professional in New York City. As an Editor & Analyst in the Public Finance Department of Moody’s Investors Service, she help analysts write and publish reports about municipal debt trends. As Public Participation Coordinator for Hazen & Sawyer Environmental Engineers & Scientists, Nancy helped engineers and the City of New York gain public approval for controversial environmental projects through effective communications.

Over the years, Nancy has written articles for various media. Her writing credits include news stories published in the Long Island section of the New York Times, a stint as an associate editor and columnist for the East End Independent Newspaper, articles in Dan’s Papers, as well as interviews, articles and notices for the websites she publishes. She also has extensive blogging experience.

Nancy currently publishes the web sites www.NorthForkParents.com (since 2006) and www.iloveriverhead.com (since 2009). Both of these sites include blogs, calendars, and extensive community information. They are increasingly becoming integrated with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.

Nancy is a member of the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, the East End Education Enrichment Coalition, the Greater Westhampton Networking Association, and the North Fork Women’s Network, among others. She also networks online.

Nancy is married with two children. The family has a year round home in Jamesport on the North Fork of Long Island.
